The Settlers of Catan

A cleverly engineered board game that exemplifies the "German Style" of board game. Players collect resources such as grain, wool, ore, brick and lumber to build roads, settlements, cities and special cards. Players can freely trade their resources requiring players to work together while competing with one another.

Everything the players build counts for points that they will need to win the game. Special awards and good point balancing make it so players are never quite sure who is in the lead or by how much and that it is always possible for someone else to pull ahead.
