Use tiles to create and control a castle studded countryside Carcassonne is an award winning game which is incredibly simple to play, yet as the game goes on leads to complex and strategic decisions. Named after the french castle, in this game each player takes turns drawing and placing a tile. Each tile depicts medieval countryside and bears roads, farmland, cities and cloisters. after placing the tile the player may place one of their meeples on a piece of terrain, the meeple becomes a farmer on grassland, and bandit on roads, a knight in the city, and a monk in a cloister. If a region is completed all meeples on it score points. In not too long you need to make nailbiting decision where you place your precious meeples and whether you use a tile to develop a city you control or to block the expansion of an opponent. In the end one player will have the most points and will have conquered Carcassonne! More delightful things... |
